Honeymoonin' Iceland: Dogsledding!

Dec 18, 2012

To me, this may have been the highlight of our honeymoon.
Early on in our planning we decided to spend a day dogsledding around the countryside, but we couldn't have predicted the awesome cloudless day that we ultimately experienced.
Now, the weather for 99% of our trip involved lots of clouds and a bit of rain mixed with some snow occasionally.
. . . and the clouds can be blamed for the lack of northern lights for the whole 10 days we were there.
Wah. Wah.
Because there were only about 5-6 hours of daylight during the time period we were there, we learned to appreciate the sun.
Sunrise was around 11am and sunset was about 4 or 5pm.
On the day of our dogsled tour we were there for sunrise and it was truly one of the most memorable sunrises I have ever seen.
Is it just me or are the colors of the sky just way better in Iceland?
Anyways, the pups were awesome and made us miss Charlie.
I even caught Josh petting one of the dogs while and to Charlie (like he was God or something and could hear him) for petting another dog.

I'm fairly certain that after the next snow in Dallas, we could probably off dogsled rides via Charlie.

(1) I'm very jealous you got to go dog sledding. It's definitely on the top of my bucket list (2) What ADORABLE puppies! How could you not pet them?
