Things

Studying is overrated.
and kinda dumb.

Remember a longgg time ago when I posted about Birdy?
She made The Hunger Games soundtrack!
Which is stuuuuupid good, btw.
Songs from Birdy anddd Jayme Dee!
Two of the my favorite YouTube girls of all time!
Magical.
(Not to mention Arcade Fire, T.Swift, Civil Wars, and Glen Hansard)
Ellie introduced me to Jayme Dee, and I really can't decide which is my favorite video of hers so watch this one then go watch Skinny Love and then watch Speechless.
Please?

I'm addicted to Genghis Grill.
Why?
You pick out whatever you want (whatever you can pile into your bowl) from an assortment of meats, spices, veggies, and sauces and then hand it to these fine fellows and they cook it for you with either fried rice or noodles.
It's perfect.

It's bad y'all.
(Btw, Josh is making that face because he hated it so much he got a whole bowl of seconds)
I've already been twice this week and there's a chance I might have to go again tonight.

Last but not least . . .
I know I already did the eleven things post a while back, but the wonderful Tegan from En Love With Life tagged me with some more questions, and I couldn't resist answering them!

1) What song, movie, and tv show would we find on replay at your house?
Song:  It's a tie. Bob Dylan "Tangled Up in Blue" and Givers "Ceiling of Plankton"
Movie: Newsies. I know I'm kinda going overboard on the whole Newsies thing, but I'm obsessed.
TV show: Modern Family. Duhhhhh.

2) Are there any blogs that inspire you?
Right now I'm particularly loving these travel blogs:
AandBCTheWorld
Of Revolt (who is currently on a cross country road trip with her musician fiancĂ©)
Travel is such a huge motivation for me when it comes to getting through school, and these blogs really help keep our travel bucket list ever growing!
As for inspiring me when it comes to fashion (which I need LOTS of help in) I truly love seeing the outfits of Tegan from EnLoveWithLife and Nicole from A Day in the Life of an Average Girl.

3) Do you remember what you were wearing when you met your husband or boyfriend?
Honestly, no, I was 12. He says I was wearing a huge bow in my hair, but I call BS on that one. I was probably wearing one of those hot airbrush t-shirts.
I do know what I was wearing when we re-met though!
This little number was my mom's friend's grandmothers vintage dress from the 70's for the Sigma Kappa/Sigma Nu Hippie Exchange:

4) What is the last book you read, and did you like it?
Hunger Games series.
PA school does not allow for any leisure reading at all, so I'm not sure how I managed to read all three books in one month, I guess my grade on my Pediatrics test reflected that decision. Oh well, I passed!

5) What items in your closet are repeat offenders?
Scrubs, scrubs, and more scrubs.

. . . and skinny jeans and loose v-neck tshirts with a big cardigan.
Like I said, I suck a fashiony things.

6) What did you want to be when you grow up when you were little?
A teacher maybe, I'm really not sure.
I don't know why this question is so hard, I have seriously thought about it for around 30 minutes and came up with nothing.

7) Heels or Flats?
Flats.
Toms & Sanuks all the way.
I would wear them to church if my mom wouldn't pinch me.

8) Fast food guilty pleasure?
In-N-Out and Raising Cane's
Pleasure for 15 minutes then immediate guilt and nausea follows.
Soooooo worth it.

9) What is your go-to stress food?
Chips and sweets and cheese and french fries and everything, ever.
Minus vegetables.

10) If your house, apartment, etc. were on fire and you only had time to grab one thing
(assuming all persons were fine), what object would you take with you?
I seriously think about this at least once a week.
My computer and external hard drive (Save the pics! Save the pics!)

11) Celebrity crush?
CT
Sorry Ryan Gosling. You lose.

See? This conversation happened last night.

. . . andddddd

College.

Mar 21, 2012

Days like today, where I spend half the day working my behind off at the hospital without getting paid and then coming home to study all afternoon/night reallllyyyyy make me miss college.
Not really caring about being on time or what to wear to class.
Thursday nights.
Waffle House.
Spare time.
Sleep.
You know, college things.

I went to Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA.
Some of my fellow alumni are: Karl Malone (NBA player), Kix Brooks (Brooks and Dunn), and Terry Bradshaw (NFL player).
Rosemary Ellis (the editor-in-chief of Good Housekeeping) was also an alum, and the speaker at my graduation ceremony!
Sometimes I regret not going to LSU, but I truly loved my time in Ruston and made some incredibly memories there (and had I not gone to Tech, I would have never re-met Josh!)

Here are some of my favorite pics from my college experience as a bulldog:

This is my high school and dance friend Lexie (who just so happened to be on Say Yes To The Dress last week!)

Even puppy Charles was a proud Tech supporter!

Josh's last home game as a Tech student, twas a sad day.

My graduation!
. . . which was only two days before we started PA school.
Jenna and I had a whoooole 1 day long summer vacation!

The only thing I left out of this post was the huge chunk that took up 75% of my time, but made my experience in college so worth it: my sorority Sigma Kappa.
Sigma Kappa post coming soon, no worries!

Once!

Mar 20, 2012

As if the news of the Newsies Musical wasn't enough, I just found out that the movie Once is coming to Broadway too!

Hopefully we can squeeze it into our plans for NYC in May . . . so far we have a musical scheduled for every night we are there.
Oops.

Watch this little preview for it riiiiight here:

On a side note:

I love them.

Happy spring y'all!

A pretty sweet St. Patty's Day weekend

Mar 19, 2012

I guess my weekend of studying wasn't all that bad . . .

Sprinkle's St. Patrick Day cupcake was dark chocolate with Bailey's Irish Cream cheese icing!

Charlie got a cupcake too, after all it was the day of the Irish.

As if the Sprinkles cupcakes weren't enough, we also had St. Patty cake.
. . . really it was just pistachio pound cake.

. . . and Jamabalya is probably my all time favorite meal.
Just thought you should know.

Charlie has this crazy sense of knowing when things are clean and making them dirty.

Quality dude time . . .

Sunday night we watched "Andrew Bird: Here's What Happened" (which is a free rental in iTunes right now and I hiiiiiiighly recommend it!)

Apparently, someone whowillremainnamelessJosh tinkered with my auto-correct settings.
I found this out the hard way while trying to inform all my friends about the free movie . . .

Happy Saturday!

Mar 17, 2012

The only thing greater than sleeping in on a Saturday morning is this video:

Happy St. Patty's Day y'all!
I'm stuck at home studying all weekend (no green beer for me . . . maybe), but I'm motivated to study hard because Josh and Charlie are coming to visit on their way through town!
Yiipppppeee
