Love list

Mar 4, 2014

Lately, I've become addicted to a few things, and I feel the need to addict you as well.
Sorry in advance.

An awesome book, blog, instagram feed, and Facebook page that gives you insight into New Yorkers of every size and shape.
You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll learn more than you ever imagined.
Start with their instagram feed (don't be mad if you get sucked in for 4920384029384 hours)

They are made with bright patterns and designs based from Guatemala textiles.
I have yet to invest in any particular item yet (although I'm coveting her overnight bags)
I think I'll start the addiction with a camera strap.
I'm fairly certain I've pinned 34908230942 of John and Dana's recipes.
They make it so darn easy.
Most recipes are less than 10 ingredients and take less than 30 minutes to make.
Are you drooling yet?

House of Cards
Our love for Netflix original series started with Orange is the New Black (come ON Season 2) but we recently became victim to Francis Underwood and Co.
. . . but how bout that season two premier?
Sheesh.

Coconut Oil
We initially bought it to put in Charlie's food (per his breeder) because he was having skin/hair issues.
I started to have monstrous zit attacks over the last few months, and after trying everything under the sun, my friend Liz told me to try coconut oil.
Sounds ridiculous right?
Covering zits in oil?
Well eat your words because it works.
Granted, I also started back on Proactive (which I'm not too thrilled about the fact that it is so potent it bleaches your towels, that has to be safe for your face, right?)
The theory behind the coconut oil is that when your skin is excessively dry it tries to compensate by overproducing oil, therefore causing zits.
If you keep your skin naturally moisturized (and avoid excessively washing it or overusing crazy drying products) then you shouldn't have to worry about zit formation.
My face basically drinks it.

Breakfast
. . . particularly breakfasts that don't involve a protein shake and do involve s'mores french toast

Mondays
. . . just kidding I don't love Mondays, but works tends to be so busy that I am fairly inactive on social media.
It may sound odd, but social media free Mondays are kinda refreshing.

What's topping your love list lately?

Oh goodness, I love the HONY instagram feed. I'd be fibbing if I said I haven't wept while scrolling through.
The Walking Dead is topping my love list right now. I recently finished Breaking Bad and really wanted to find something to replace it, so this is doing the trick.
A close second is pesto. I seriously could just eat spoonfuls of it. I will put it on anything and everything.

I received the HONY book for Christmas and I'm in love with it. We spend most weekends in the city and it's fun to wander around now just people watching (in a whole different way). And I just made my first recipe from the Minimalist Baker - brilliant :)

I love Humans of New York and I still have not tried coconut oil - I need to get on it!
