The trip that infected us with the travel & concert bugs...

Jun 30, 2011

5 years ago, Josh and I went on our first trip with just the two of us.
We believe it was this trip that is to blame for our travel/concert addiction.

We were lucky enough to be offered two 6th row tickets to the Dave Matthews & John Mayer benefit concert for the victims of Virginia Tech.
The tickets were only released to Virginia Tech students, and a small amount of tickets were released to Dave Matthews fan club members in a lottery format.
Our good friend Jared Evans won 2 tickets but was unable to make it due to school, so he offered them to us. We had to skip out on our first few days of our sophomore year of college, but who cares about syllabus days, right? :)

Somehow, we convinced our parents to be ok with it and we drove 14 hours nonstop. It seemed like so much driving at the time, but little did we know, 14 hours would eventually seem like 5 minutes to us.

It was my first Dave show (and Josh's 15th!)

Leroi Moore, Dave Matthews former saxophone player, came out to jam with John Mayer during his set.

We look like little babies :(

John came out to play #41 with Dave.
I was so excited I was nearly in tears.
To this day, its still one of my favs.

To this day, of all the Dave concerts Josh & I have been to (Josh's count is already over 30!), that show and setlist was hands down the best.

I was hooked from the beginning.
We had no idea of the spark that was ignited from that trip.
Since then we've been to countless concerts and festivals from coast to coast (28 different states!)

...and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon :)
