A regular 'ol weekend + a crafty craft

Feb 20, 2012

All in all, my weekend was pretty lame.
No excitement here.
(Except lots of quality family time, which was fantastic!)

When I wasn't vicariously living through people actually having an enjoyable weekend . . .
I was studying.

Ellie and I did some extreme antique shopping this weekend, Picker Sister style, minus the whole traveling around the country with a trailer and owning our own store thing.

Mrs. Butterworth will make a fabulous vase for me one day!

I'm thinking Josh needs these for some of his home-brews.

A creative little combo . . . recipe coming soon!

Ellie took her senior pics this weekend and I snapped a few action shots in the mean time.
She's so darn pretty, such a great model!
So very Twilight, eh?

I was in love with all the things we came across during her photo session.

I stole Ellie's chapstick.
Oops.

My Valentine's Day gift finally came in the mail!
Can't wait to playyyyy (once I find film for it . . . )

Oh yea, here's the crafty craft:

While antique shopping, I came across this $5 painting which reminded me of the greatest Mark Twain quotes of all time.
Naturally, I revived it (Pinterest inspired, of course)
I forgot to take a picture of the painting alone. Oops.

I was too scared to just paint a solid layer of black over it, so with the hopes of somewhat letting the ocean and pirate ship show through, I dabbed on a few layers of silver paint.

Not too shabby, huh?

I hope everyone's weekend was a little bit more exciting than mine!

P.S.
This weekend I couldn't go anywhere without hearing, seeing, reading about Gotye's song "Somebody That I Used to Know" which apparently blew up in a matter of 24 hours.
In case you haven't already heard it, or if you have, then check out this fantastic cover of it riiiiight here.
Five peeps. One guitar.
(For the record, Ellie showed it to me first)

I can't wait to see that recipe. Your little sister looks so pretty...and you're right, very Twilight-ish, only she's prettier than Kristen Stewart (yes, I said it)! Two thumbs up on your craft project. That's awesome!
