Finally, after four months of deliberating and daydreaming, we have planned our honeymoon.
Neither of us was dying to go anywhere tropical or beachy (have you seen how pale our skin is? and I'm kinda lacking the whole bikini body thing)
So we knew we wanted somewhere not in America with mountains and snow.
We also knew we wanted to go somewhere that we wouldn't do much "relaxing" and somewhere that we could afford to stay for a long period of time.
We finally settles on the most perfect place in the world:
During our research we came across this video and were immediately hooked:
Personally, I am dying to see the Northern Lights.
We hear that your odds of catching them peak every 11 years.
. . . and conveniently enough, it's the 11th year of the cycle.
Other things consuming our to-do list while in the land of fire and ice are:
tour breweries and distilleries
see active volcanos
get pampered in the blue lagoon geothermal spa
(remember that episode of the Bachelor, anyone?)
(yes, you read that right, you can scuba between two continental shelves)
eat puffin and shark
and see the imagine peace tower, of course
To help Josh out with funding this little adventure, we created a Honeymoon Registry that allows our wedding guests to get online and purchase different things for our honeymoon such as: hotels, dinners, adventures, and even portions of the flight.
(One of my favorite online finds in a long time, this is brilliant and I'm kinda furious I didn't invent it)
