Campin and kayaking with the dudes

Jun 7, 2012

I find it super ironic that I literally flew straight home from New York and all its fanciness and literally hopped in a car to completely change gears and go camping.
As much as I loved being in the city, being in the mountains in the spring is kinda incredible.
I'm temporarily overloaded with all my NYC pics, so until I get those under control I'll share some of our camping pics I took on my cell phone.
(Thanks to my LifeProof phone case, it's magical)

Every summer Josh's family heads up to Arkansas to spend the weekend at The Buffalo River.
They have been doing it for over 30 years!
Unfortunately, of the 5 years we have dated, we have only been able to go twice, this time being our second.
I've been craving the chance to go back and I was so relieved to find out that it fell during my break from school.

Two highlights to this trip:

1) Charlie and his adorable life jacket

2) Josh finally getting to use the kayak I got him for Christmas.
Yes, that holiday that was 6 months ago.
He looks like a nerdy dad.

If you know Charlie at all, you will completely find it hard to believe that he actually stayed in the boats for 8 whole hours.

Charles didn't fare too well in the kayak.

My men

"Hurry, get an action shot"

Can't wait to go back next year!
Sometime soon I'll be posting about the rest of our trip, as well as some New York posts.
I'm on picture overload right now, my hard drive is literally full.
I just can't bring myself to delete anything . . .

I am pretty jealous of your camping trip. I am trying to convince by boyfriend to make a trip to Arkansas with me this summer...but he is worried it will be too hot to sleep in a tent. Glad ya'll had such a great time!

Random question: where do you get the super cute scarves you always wear as headbands? I tried that look the other day, but the scarf just slipped right off...

This year the water was supposed to be way lower than it usually is, by next year it should be so much more fun! :)

Wow, such a nice place it is. Camping is both adventurous and painful. But overall it is worth it. Here you can check out some of the best tents for sale along with other camping gear.
