If Zappos was a human, I would marry it

Aug 2, 2011

Last night Josh woke me up to inform me that one our favorite people in the world was on Colbert Report.
He is among the ranks of Leonard Knight, Yvon Chouinard, and Sam Calagione . . .

It was Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos!

I've been a die hard Zappos advocate for about 5 years now.
Mom first introduced me and I was completely sold after we placed our first order.
We ordered some shoes for Dad for Father's Day at 6:00 pm on a Saturday.
They were proudly waiting on the doorstep bright and early the next morning.
FOR FREE!

What in the worlddddddddddd happened.
It was not real life.

I probably have at least one Zappos conversation a week.
I even convinced the TSA lady in the Seattle Airport to shop at Zappos!

Josh bought Tony's book "Delivering Happiness" and read it on our trip to California in May.
Even though I haven't had time to read it, I feel like I might as well have because he probably read over half of the book out loud in the car.

Josh's Reasons why Zappos is the cat's pajamas:

They probably have the best work environment ever.
They are number 6 on Fortune Magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For.
When new employees are training, they get offered $2,000 to quit.

Tony allows himself get paid the equivalent of the customer service employees.
He's pretty much the coolest dude running the coolest company in America.

We tried to get a tour of the Zappos Headquarters in Vegas, but we didn't get as lucky as we were with the 'ol Toms incident.

I've never really been a big shopper, but I think that's why I like it so much.
You just order whatever you think you might like, try it on, and send it back if you don't like it . . .
For free!

GOOOOOOOOO Zappos!
